UNIQUE & MEMORABLE GUEST EXPERIENCES

Horse Carriage Tours to Farms, Orchards and Wineries

We are passionate about creating unique and memorable guest experiences, and we also love being outdoors, being around animals, and savoring good food and wine! What better way to combine these passions than to take a horse carriage tour to farms, orchards, and wineries?! The relaxed pace, beautiful scenery, and fun onsite activities add up to an experience you won’t soon forget!

OUR UPCOMING HORSE CARRIAGE TOURS

There are no upcoming events at this time.

What You’ll Do

At the designated meeting site, we will board a carriage for a ride through the beautiful countryside, on backroads surrounded by the awe-inspiring West Elk Mountains. Ms. Jo Ann, your host, will make you feel welcome and point out features of interest along the way. Our destination will be a local farm or winery. Depending on the venues and the time of year, we will do u-pick fruit picking and/or wine tasting, along with a tour of the farm by carriage. The farm owner may jump aboard to provide insider commentary about their operation. The carriage ride back will follow either the same route, or a different route. The entire tour lasts 3 to 3.5 hours.

Where We’ll Go

The vineyards and wineries are part of the West Elks Viticultural Area, which boasts some of the highest vineyards in North America and great Colorado Wines! We can run three different tour routes:

– Paonia to Black Bridge Winery and Orchard Valley Farms
– Azura Cellars to Stone Cottage Cellars
– Leroux Creek Vineyards to Mesa Winds Winery

What We’ll Provide

A classic, open-air carriage pulled by an amazing, matched set of giant, purebred draft horses and driven by an experienced wrangler, bottled water, free wine tasting and/or bags for U-pick fruit harvesting at applicable destinations, and in season.

What to Bring

Dress for outdoor comfort from the elements! Bring a rain jacket, sunglasses, sunscreen, and snacks. We recommend wearing a long-sleeved shirt and good walking shoes. Bring money for buying locally produced wines, u-picked fruit, and specialty food items and products, directly from the farmers. Bring a camera, too!

Tour Start Times

Morning tours go from 10:00 am to 1:00-1:30 pm. Afternoon tours go from 2:00 pm to 5:00-5:30 pm. Be sure to arrive early to get checked in, use restrooms, etc.
